Snow Days
Fairfield Island Preschool and After School Care Centre will close when Strathcona Elementary School closes for snow days. Listen to the radio for a list of school closures.
Our Sponsored Children
We are so blessed to live in such a great country as Canada, and we want to try to touch the lives of children who are not as fortunate as we are. We have chosen four random children, from various corners of the globe, who need our help through schooling, health and nutrition, and the basic necessities of life which we sometimes take for granted.
Our goal is to raise the money required to sponsor these children on a class by class basis, to help the students here realize that they can make a difference in someone’s life, no matter where they live on our planet. We will be trying to make a bond with each class’s sponsor child through pictures, art work, a Christmas present, and anything else our student’s hearts wish to send to these children.
The funds needed to support these children for the duration of the school year amount to $400.00 per class, and we challenge all of you to help us with this important goal. We have set up a donation box to the left hand side of the entrance door as you enter the school. Please help in any way you can to see we can make this dream a reality.
